At SUNSOCIETY, we believe in total cost transparency. We want you to know exactly where your money goes when you purchase our products. Our business model with only one permanent collection and direct-to-consumer sales ensures you get the highest possible quality without having to pay the traditional retail markups.
Typically, retail prices include a markup that covers the costs of selling through multi-brand stores. This wholesale model would force us to charge approximately 6-8 times the landed cost of our garments. Instead, by selling directly to you, we can offer our products at a much more reasonable price.
Our markup is between 2.5-3x landed cost depending on the product characteristics. It covers the cost of our garments as well as VAT, product development, packaging, payment (credit cards, PayPal, shop systems), accounting, marketing, admin and financial costs, while maintaining a super slim profit to keep investing in our mission of providing ethically made, high-quality sun protection clothing.
We also chose not to include shipping costs in our price, as they can vary significantly based on the destination, shipping speed, and weight of the package. This way, every customer pays the exact shipping cost for their order.
